During the last three years he has spent four months of each vear on the continent and in England at- tending international gatherings of the church and preaching in the English churches. The commigsion on religious educa- tion of the province of Washington has araranged to hold a conference in July next to which will be invited all the colored clergymen and church workers of the Episcopal Church in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryiand, Virginla, West Virginia and “District of Columbla. The com- mittee to manage ‘this conference met In Washington last Monday and de- cided that Paul's School, Law- renceville, Va., should be the place for the conference and that it should last twelve days. The dates chosen were July 9 to 20, provided this does not interfere with the summer school maintained at St. Paul's by the state of_Virginia, This conference is intended pri- marily for workers in colored Sun- day schools, but leaders in other forms of church work also will be welcom: The committee 1s now engaged in securing a faculty and it was voted to enroll as instructors the best men and women available irrespective_of color or geographical location. The school will be sup- ported by the Episcopal churches in the flve states named and it is hoped the churches will st the dele- gates with their traveling expenses {80 there may be a large attendance of |interested people.
