o AMUSEMENTS, Mme. Olga Samaroff’s Recital. Mme. Olga Samaroff has such a; charming personality that it almost overshadows her ability as an artis| talented as she is. She says she isn much of a speaker, but her easy poise and informal manner of ex- plalping the few notes she felt nec- essary to impart to the large au- dience last night at Masonic Temple auditorium quite captivated all who | listened to her. The auditorium was filled, notwithstanding the rival con- I cert given by Siloti in the City Club. Mme, Samaroff is ranked ~among; the greatest woman pianists in the world, and her skill as demonstrated last night more than proves her right to that title. Her interpreta- tion of the Beethoven “Sonata, Opus 10, No. 2, was most interesting. The first, the allegro, movement Wwa: played with feeling and with soft, well-rounded notes; the allegretto movement carries the.real theme of the sonata in its most simple and charming form; the presto movement was played with exceptional even- ness of rhythm and precise phrasing. The next group, three of Brahm’ compositions, was equally delightful. The “Intermezzo in E Flat which | madame. described as suggesting | lullaby to her, was ayed with a poignant note. The “Capriccio inl| B Minor® also was well plaved. The sody in E Flat” was quite the composition of the group aultless arpeggios and r ncore number, in respo ; $2 and $3 Necklaces $1.48 Pearl Bead Necklaces, 27 and 30 inch lengths: fine quality graduated $1 Solitaire Rings 69c¢ Women's Sterling Sil- ver Solitaire Rings, Dlatinum finish, with rilliant rhinestone soli- grnamental gallery ef- in satin-lined case. - Boys’ High-Grade Clothing At Exceptional Reductions In this Pre-Inventory mothers will find many unusual money-saving advar 3 with' prices down to the lowest pos ole point on our entire stock of Boys” Two- Pants Suits, Overcoats, Mackinaws, ete.
