RALPI. of the sudden death in New York Sat- urday of Joseph E. Ralph, fifty-ni years old, for twelve years dir of the bureau of engraving and printing. Ralph, long a re ' nad made his hom: York for the past three years, he was acting as chic President Farrell of the Corporation. He was stricken in an clevator while on his way to his office in the Empire Bullding, 71 Broadway, and died in the arms of ton, without regaining consciousness. Body Brought to Washington. The body was brought to Washing- ten yesterday and taken to Lee's ‘chapel, on Pennsylvania avenue. The funeral will be held tomorrow morn- ing at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick’s Church, when a solemn requiem mass will be sung. The interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mr. Ralph was a native of Illinois, At one time he served as assistant postmaster of the Ho of Repre- sentatives and was collector of the fair.
