Chatfleld of Br died suddenly in his home ye::icrday while decorating a Christmas trei. He was appointed to the bench fifteen years ago by President Roosevelt. His death, physicians said, was due to heart disease. Judge Chatfield was born in Owego, N. Y., October 4, 1871, and was gradu- ated from Yale in 1893. He took an active part In athleties while at col- lege, and was a member of the varsity crew during his senlor year. He was a member of Zeta Psi and was a former national professor of the fraternity.
