Army-Navy Game Liquor Charges Declared ‘Bunk’ By the Associsted Press. PHILADELPHIA, November 30.— John T. Davis, prohibition direc- tor for Pennsylvania, character- I ized the reports that liquor had been freely indulged in at the Army-Navy foot ball game last Saturday as “pure bunk.” Mr. Davis, who voiced this opin- jon upon his return from Washing- ton, sald his visit to the capital was on routine business and had’ not included a meeting with either the Secretary of War or che Secre- i tary of the Navy. | Mr. Davis declared his men, who were at the game, reported that they had seen no liquor sold and had not even observed a single person taking a drink from a pocket flask. Concerning the Navy ball, after the game. Mr. Davis #aid he had recelved no official information. Under orders issued by Secretary Denby, a special naval board will meet at the Naval Academy to- morrow to investigate the con- duct of midshipmen at Philadel- phia last “Sgturday and “to fix the responsibility for the lack of supervision over the midshipmen | at, the ball."”" The board is composed of Rear Admiral Ashby H. Robertson, Rear Admiral 8. 8. Robinson and Capts. Sinclair Gannon and John T. Timpkins, the latter as recorder.
