'| avid Ransom Cove - CHURCH CAMPAIGN PLANS ARE READY Workers to Be Sent Out To- morrow by the Episcopal i Church. The campaign committee of tie Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Washington, consisting of Byron S. | Adams, Stephen E. Kramer and Rev. D. Wellington Curran, has been at work for several days arranging the { program of the campaign, which to- morrow will send out workers in evers parish to visit every communicant to | solicit support for the program of the church covering the needs of missions, { religious education and social service for | the year of 1923, | ! In speaking of the purposes of this icampaign Dr. Curran says “The im | portant side of the campaign is the ¥ | spiritual side. The raising of money has in itself a spiritual effect and. is indeed a tremendous spiritual enter- | prise. Every item listed in the bud- get and in the list of priorities is | spiritual need. The enlistment o] one regular contributor is a spiritual attainment. Nothing would so con. ; tribute to the spiritualization of thy whole church as enlistment of every jsingle member thereof as a regular contributor to the church's need. A more widespread and a more thoroug | promotion of all that the churci stands for would be a great spiritua! advance. Money is needed for pra. tical purposes,” but money will h forthcoming as soon as the peopl: are spiritually awakened to all ths the program means. Spiritual Afm. The committee has listed what considers should be the minimun: spiritual aims for 1923, the attain ment of which would mean a rea! progress for the Episcopal Church i1 ‘Washington and vicinity. They = as this aim 2,000 baptisme, 2,000 co: firmations, 10.000 childrer. in Sunda: school, five candidates for the minis. try. Against thl- ideal is set the attain ments for 1921: 1.350 baptisms, 1,385 confirmations, xrsn Sunday school children. The committee has instructed ti { canvassers to emphasize that wh, | is desired is support of very defin objects and projects of work. These | are listed in a 100-page volume, whicl shows exactly how eve.y dollar con- tributed in the whole church will be used. Second Profect. The second project will not started until support of the first assured, and 80 on throughout the list of the 204 priorities for the coming year.
