CHURCH AN k e 'SWEDISH ARCHBISHOP LAYS WAR TO FEAR STOCKHOLM. September 9.—Na- than Soederblor, Archbishop of Sw.—’ den, who is going to the United States next year, in an address be- fore the assembly at the World Con- gress of Churches, which has been held in Copenhagen, made an appeal to all creeds and congrega- tions to unite in restoring peace throughout the world. Representa- tives of nearly every Chn-uan church and creed were presem “The world is Tafested with two microbes of hate and fear.,” the bishop said, “but we are grossly ig- norant of how to turn our inherited curse into a blessing.” He denounc- ed those servant of Christianity “ho' pause fo ask_about party or creed when there is a question of saving perishing humanity. The churches must stop theorizing and arguing about trifies, and must unite indefinite action In the cause of peace.” SUNDAY SCHOOLS OPEN. The Nativity and the Resurrection Church schools_opened last Sunday for the fall season. During Septem- ber the hours are 9:05 and 9:45 a.m. and 3:15 pm. A new rule of the school is for all scholars to attend the school session and one morn- ing service each ‘Sunday. ‘The smaller children have their special service together at 9:45 and the scholars of the senior department el tend one of the regular church serv- jces, early or late, as they desire.
