Following a motion presented by John Dolph, the Rotary Club went on record yesterday as favoring a con- crete plan for boys' work, accom- panied by a budger of the estimated cost of its execution, at a meeting of the organization in the New City Club. This action was taken after Ernest Hathaway, chairman of the boys’ committee of the club, had said that the committee was greatly ham- pered by lack of funds. “The object of our work should be to develop citizenship and arouse pa- triotism in the normal privileged boy,” declared Mr. Hathaway, in dis- cussing boys' work. William Knowles Cooper, who was in the chair, stated that the names of those boys who voluntarily ab- sented themselves from school should be obtained.and that each one should Dbe visited by a member of the Rotary Club. By thus advising with experi- enced men, Mr. Cooper felt that the boys would be shown the value ot continuing their education. A motion presented by Fred Lincoln that at the next convention of Inter- national Rotary Washington repre- sentatives shouid extend an invitation to hold the 1924 convention in this city, was taken under advisement. During the luncheon the club was entertained with a piano solo by ‘Winifred Michaelson and a vocal solo by Bernice Randall, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Bryan.
