BOSTON, July 18 (Special).—The raw wool market in Summer street had .net begun fully to reflect the effects of the amnouncement of the American Woolen Company's spring prices today and trading was not par- ticularly active, although prices were well maintained. The only trading recently has been in the cases of wool sent here on consignment, which Was pressed for immediate sale. The trend of prices on scattered lots throughout the west is showing 2 slightly firmer tone, some sales be- ing recorded in a better than $1.20 clean Boston basis. . - TWO PERSONS SHOT. Serles ‘of Street Fights at 1st and Pierce Streets. 'A serles of street fights in the vicinity of 1st and Pierce streets this afternoon resulted in the shooting of two persons, one of them, Mrs. Libbie Siegal, residing at 1139 1st street, re- zelving two bullet wounds in her face, the shots being intended for one of the colored participants in the fight. Samuel Johnson, colored, 1103 Half street court, was shot in the back. ‘Mrs. Siegal was .taken to Emer- gency Hospital in a private convey- ance, while Johnson was taken to Sibley Hospital in an ambulance. Both are seriously wounded, but may Yecover. Thomas Magruder, colored, Plerce street, was arrested and gfi pending & further investigation. Johnson told hospital mttendants and Detective Bradley that he was shot by a Tom Magruder, with a pistol that had been dropped by a police- man and picked up by Magruder, P Mrs. Siegal was seated ' in the front Foom of her home, with her four chil- dren, but she -was struck by the stray bullets.
