5 . THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 1922. ‘r14 : - THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C, I S~ Taste the Tang LANSBURGH & BROTHER STORE NEWS for Friday, March 24, 1922 2 HOUND, CAUGHT ON FENCE.I - HANGS 9 DAYS IN DYING Dog Failing to Show Up After Fox Chase Found After Long Search. Buck Bryant of the New York ‘World bureau is fond of fox hunt- ing and often chases the reds that range in Montgomery county, MMd. He and_Charles A. Clagett dnd Henry Clay Edwards of Rockville and Will H. Embrey of the Cabin John creek section own some fine hounds. Recently Cain, a well-bred Lhound,- was shipped *to Mr. Bryant and Mr. Embrey and they took him out one night with their pack near where the new Congressional Club is to e located, on Cabin John creek, and lost him. The last seen of him he was driv- ing an old red fox that runs from 1 Bradley Hills to American University Park, near Charles C. Glover's subur- iban home. When the rest of the pack came in after denning the fox Cain did not show up. A wide search was made for him. “Lost" circulars were distributed throughout the low- er part of Montgomery county. Ten days or more went by and no word came of Cain. Thursday Mr. Bryant found the dog's dead body hanging by one hind foot in a woven wire fence on the Gallaher farms. Cir- cumstances and fact§ show that while running the fox the dog jumped the five-foot fence and hung his foot fast in the wire. i Usually You Pay: More For Such Smart Hats The Friday $ Only Price.
