J, March 13— Bcores of possible clfies wers run down today without ng a ®o- lutjon to the mystery surrounding the slaying of John T. Brunen; circus owner, who was shot Friday night while sitting at the window of his home reading. Coupty authorities, including Pros- ecutor Kelsey, sald tonight that de- velppments in the case would make nedessary a long examination of Mrs. Brunen and her eighteen-year-old daughter Hasel probably tomeorrow. They would not diaclose what the de- velopments were. William Parkson, a lion tamer, who married Hazel Brunen in face of her father’s opposition, sent word to the authorities that he would be glad to givé them any information ha could regarding the case. He wasa attend- ing a dance at Perth Amboy Wwhen Brunen was shot by some one outside who fired thi the windowpene. The circus man had the marriage of Parkson and his daughter annulled. How the slayer knew that Brunen was In thé habit of sitting by the window to read is one of the peints to which the detectives have given much thought. They argue that the use{of a shotgun indicates that the assassin intended to make sure of his aim. S Mrs. Mary Walker, & neighbor, told detectives that on the night before the circus man was killed she \had seen a_man knocking at the kitchen door of his house. She said that she had seen Mrs.. Brunen, her mother and Hazel leave for a theater, and that she knew Brunen was alone in the jhouse. Whether Brunen had met the man the detectives could not learn.
