igg wiz s s 3len THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C., PREPARATIONS PROGRESS FOR ALMAS TEMPLE FAIR “Garden of Allah” Delaying, But - Night Shift May Be Used to Haye All in Readiness. ‘Workmgn are bending every effort to have all in readiness for the open- ing of the big Almas Temple Shrine oair, which is scheduled to start Mon- day night at Conventicn Hall, und, according to those In charge of the arrangements, a night shift will be | installed, if it is found necessary to complete the undertaking. The erection of the “Garden of Allah.” which will be the outstanding fea- ture of the entertainment, was a greater task than at first anticipated, and last night John J. P. Mullane, director general, said that had he known the work connected with its arrangement he would have started preparationsa week carlier. Mr. Mul- dane added,; however, that no cost would be spdred to finish the job. Many logal merchants have en- booths at the fair and others are fast faHing in line, so by the opening night it is predicted that the cream of business Washington will be represented in the hall. Notices were sent out last night for all units of the Aimas Patrol to meet at temple headquarters, 711 13th street, Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock shyrp, where they will be met by thg A¥nas Band and proceed in a body to the fair. _—e————— ASKS VETERANS BE USED | IN STREET REPAIRS HERE| Foreign Wars Chaplain Presents Need to District Committee.
