Hayes, seventy vears old, a retired railroad builder of Brevard C., was found dead in his room at the Raleigh Hotel yesterday. Death is be- lieved to have resulted from old age Mr. Hayes had been at the hotel for weveral days in connection with some road business. A maid sought en- trance to the room, and when she failed to get any response to her knock House Detective Reed was called and entered the room by means of a passkey. He found Mr. Hayes dead.
