TROY, N. Y., June 20.—Don_Camp- bell. thirty-one, and Henry Bel"llne. eighteen, of Watervliet, were killed. afternoon. when a giant hydroair- plane, piloted by Campbell, was Campbell, the pilot, scemed to be executing a_nose dive after fiying exceedingly low over the grounds of the Laureate Boat Club. Evidently he was not_high enough to complete the dive. The nose of the machine struck the gravel bottom. Capt. William Nial of the boat club headed a rescuing party, which was hampered by the tide rising so rap- idly it threatened to drown Mocharie before he could be extricated. The machine was owned by the Hudson Valley Air Line and was being tuned up for passenger carrying. NOTED LAW EXPERT DIES. TOKIO, June 15.—Nagao Ariga, constitytional adviser to the presi- dent of the Chinese republic and an authority and writer on international law, is dead. Prof Nagao Ariga has held numer- ous official positions in Japan. In {1894, when the Japan-China war broke 'ul, he was advisor on international 1w to the commanding officers of the econd army and he represented Japan at the peace conference in London in 1899.
