KIWANIANS HOLD BIG SING AFTER MUSIC WEEK TALK Many Old Standbys Sung at Weekly Luncheon of c)pb:" Following a_short address on_the meaning ‘of Music week by Mrs. Corinne Lockman, members of the Kiwanis Club, under the leadership of Robert Lawrence, broke into song in Kiwanian style at the weekly lunciieon of the club at the Hotel Washington yesterday. “Smiles,” “The ' Calendar Song," “Sally” and all other standbys of the organization were given with a zest that proved beyond question that those present Wwere aware that “Music week” was .being observed in the city. An added attraction was the singing of the National Quartet, composed of Miss Elizabeth Max- well, Miss Lillian Chenowith. Wil- liam Braithwaite and Harry Forker. Claude H. Woodward presided and announced that the acceptance by the City Club of the Kiwanian offer to furnish the corner stone of its new building had been .received. John A. O'Rourke announced that both the Washington and Detroit teams had accepted the invitation of the Kiwanis Club to be guests at mext Thursday's luncheon. the day on which the two teams play for the benefit of the Boys' Club of Wash- ington. The Kiwanis Club of Ha- gerstown will be entertained by the local organization the same day, and following the meeting will parade in a body to the ball park ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES. TODAY. Miss Louise Blair will give an exposi- tion of the Sunday school lesson at 4:45 at Y. W. C. A, 1333 F street. TONIGHT. - The Red Triangle Outing Club will have a musical at the Y. M. C. A. at 8 o'clock. The cantata “Ruth and Naomi" be presented by the choir of the Wash- ington Hebrew Congregation, assisted by Mrs. Gladys Thomas and Richard Lorleberg, at the Eighth Street Temple. The Writers' League meets at the Public Library. Miss * Helen Coleman, British war nurse, will speak at 8 o'clock in St. Stephen's Parish Hall, 14th street and Columbia road. A concert for the he benefit of Columbia Polytechnic Institute for the Blind will be given at 8:15 o'clock at the New Wil- lard. Supreme Court Upholds Injunction Against Price Exchanging. The Supreme Court has refused the petition of the American Hard- wood Manufacturers’ Association for a writ of supersedeas to serve as a stay against the injunction obtained by the government to prevent the members from exchanging price in- formation. On the ground that the “open com- petition” plan of the association wag in violation of anti-trust laws, the government obtained a permanent in- junction in March, 1920, from Federal Judge 3McCall, at Memphis, Tenn., pro- hibiting members of the association from exchanging reports on produc- tion, sales and prices.
