Edward McNey, a prosperous mer- chant ,at Riverdale, Prince Georges county, Md.. was the victim of an as. sault and attempted robbery near his home about 2 o'clock this morning. His home is about three blocks from his store. and two unidentified white men held him up on the street about midway between the store and his home, slashed him with a razor and disappeared without getting what money he had in his possession. Citizens’ Association Approves Aid to Salvation Army. The organization of a Salvdtion Army board in Takoma Park was ap- proved unanimously at a meeting of the Takoma Park Citizens’ Associa- tion held last night in the Takoma Public Library. Mrs. Ernest Wiggins addressed the association, explaining in detai] the plans of the Salvation Army to establish boards in the vari- ous communities, with local residents composing the board. She told of the work of the organization in the past and urged the co-operation of the citizens of Takoma Park and vicinity to assist in the welfare work.
