Lt spatch from Innsbruck toda: stated that Charles mow s under Spanish protection, and it is possible he may take refuge in Spain if he is refused readmission to Switzerland. Details available here of the ex- ruler's escape are to the effect that Charles, disguised, without a proper passport and without informing the Swiss government, took the Lausanne express Friday night for Buchs, on the Swiss-Austrian frontier, with his secretary, thereby breaking his pa- role. An automobile took the former monarch to Steinanger, West Hun- gary, from which place he announced his arrival to Admiral Horthy, the Hur'xga.rlln regent. After the recent offictal statemen that the allies would not allow the return of Charles to the throne, it is said, the latter told friends in Pran- gins, his Swiss refuge, that the allies would accept an accomplished fact, 4nd he would soon return to Budapest. —eeee P make it look asgood as new ‘without ;pen-e It retaing its lustrq.
