YELLOW PINE PRICES KEPT HIGH, IS CHARGE Further information regarding al- leged activities of the Southern Pine Association in maintaining high prices for yellow pine lumber was trans- mitted _yesterday by the Federal Trade Commission to Chairman Cal- der of the Senate committee on hous- ing and reconstruction. It is based on investigations made by the com- mission at the request of the Depart- ment of Justice. The commission charges that in 1919 the association refused to comply w/ requests of Federal Industrial Board to reduce prices, saying con- certed action would be a violation of the law.
