Lincoln Cole, former superin- i tending engineer of the Norfolk and Washington Steamboat Company, died vesterday at Garfield Hospital. He was six years old. Mr. Cole had heen connected with the steamboat company for a num- ber of vears. He was supervisor of construction for the company and car- ried out many important engineering project: X home was at 1012 Rhode Island avenue northeast. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Cole; three sons, Stanley, Ray- mond and (eorge, and a daughter, Mildred. PROMINENT LAWYER DIES. 'W. Preston Williamson of This City Succumbs in Jacksonville. W. Preston Williamson, prominently identified with the local bar for many vears, died in Jacksonville, Fla., yes- terday morning. His sister, Mrs. Rosa W. Cash, who was with him when he dicd, wired information of his death to relatives in this city. Mr. Williamson was Charlottesville, Va., born October 12, 1853. He graduated from the National University Law School in 1877 and has practiced law in this city since that time. He was unmarried. Mr. Williamson is survived by Mrs. Cash, a sister, and two brothers, L. Cabell Williamson of this city, and Williamson, a patent attorney. Philadelphia. Mrs. Louise Sturges Bissell, widow of ‘Wilson Shannon Bissell, who was Post- master General during President Cleve- land’s second administration, died Mon- day at the Massachusetts General Hos- pital, Boston, according to word received here today. Mrs. Bissell was a native of Utica, N. Y., but much of her life was spent in this city and in Buffalo, N. Y. She had been a widow about fourteen years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Burnham N. Sleeping Sickness Fatal to George T. Lippincott. ATLANTIC CITY, N. J. February 15. —George T. Lippincott, wealthy bank- er, died here last night of sleeping sickness. He was taken 11l while on his vacht in Florida waters about a month ago. After being in Florida for a week Mr. Lippincott was brought here to the home of his brother-in-law, Wil- liam H. Bartlett. Specialists from ew York and Philadelphia were call- ed, but he never regained conscious- ness. He was awakened from time to time to receive nourishment, but he could not recognize members of his family. - Mr. Lippincott was fifty-seven years old, and was one of the largest real estate holders along Atlantic City's famous boardwalk. His fortune is es- timated at $3,000,000. He and his father, Barclay Lippincott, founded the first department store and theater hore. The banker was a devotee of outdoor sports and a keen yachts- man. SUES WOMAN FOR ASSAULT Man Says She “Beat and Wounded” Him. Frank Tuckman yesterday filed suit in the District Suppeme Court to recover $20,000 damages from Rose Mae Shue for alleged assault The plaintiff alleges that last Thurs day Mrs. Shue unlawfully and willfully laid hands on him, and otherwise “heat, wounded and illtreatea” hir He says he has been publicly humil- jated and insulted.
