Not remnants in the hackneyed sense of the word—no left-over Pieces of undesirable goods or season-aged patterns. There isn’t a yard of that kind of goods in all our store. Remnants here mean new fabrics, crisp from the looms—just as good in style, just as perfect in color selection, just as lofty in quality as any lot of piece goods made— they're merely the short pieces of the mills—dress pattern lengths which the makers can’t handle, and which they find more profitable to let us have—there’s no difference ‘twixt a piece of goods and a remnant of this sort in the least, save in the price—and you can save half of that. © RTED WASH GOODS, CONSISTING OF ALL-SILK y 4c OU © SELINE DE SOTE, SILK ar S GINGHAMS AND SILK I FIGUR ‘D, = IN 25e. Assumirg that a regiment suffers severely in an engagement, while the rest of the troops are intact, the di- vision surgeon has at his disposal the hos- pital corps of his division, with all its ambulances to succor the wounded, instead of leaving the regiment with its few hos- pital attendants under the old system to struggle with more work than they can at- tend to, perhaps leave the wounded suffer- ing on the battlefield, and the next day with its few ambulances trying to reach a tainments of the sort. Good things come in packets, bas- kets and hampers from every part of the state. The people about the camp carry in their contributions themselves, and they carry more than enough to keep the regi- ment alive.
