Fortun- ately everybody was out and there numerous and willing hands that went to a speedy rescue. They are among the datiy bathers, and Mr. Tolputt is an expert swimmer, but the undertow carried both out to sea. An effort was made by those on shore to take out the boat, but it got tangled in the life line and became unman- ageable. Every man who could swim tn- stantly threw himscif into the water, anil their assistance, prompt as it was, cam none too soon. To Mr. Floyd Waggaman belongs the distincti them first. The rescuing party formed in line and swam to shore with Mrs. Tolputt several remaining to assist Mr. Tolputt, who was well nigh exhausted.
