Winkel, a cigar maker, was found this morning at 6:30 o'clock in his room at 2713 M street in a dying condition, and before @ physician could be summoned he expired. What the cause of death was is hard to say. The coroner was notified. There was no one present at the time the unfortunate man was taken sick, and when found he was too far gone to speak to those at hts side. The deceased was a widower and occu- Pied a rear room in the residence of D. 8, Sheahan, at 2713 M street, where he manu- factured cigars and slept, besides prepar- ing his own meals in the room. He had been slightly ill for several days, but last evening was seen to go up to his room about 8:30 o'clock in apparently worse con- dition. On account of his illness Mr. Shea- han had persuaded Winkel to go to a hos- pital, and this he was to have done this morning. It was customary for Mr. Winkel to sleep quite late of mornings at times, but owing to the fact that he had been sick, Mr. Sheahan went to his room this morning shortly after 6 o'clock, and was surprised to find him lying prostrate in the center of the floor, moving as if in pain.
