The trouble at the Macedonia Baptist Church, Hillsdale, which, it was supposed, was to have been settled at a meeting of ministers held at Snow Creek Church a ccuple of weeks ago, broke out afresh yes- terday, and at this time neither the friends nor the eremles of Pastor Mason are in Fossession of the edifice. = Notwithstanding the fact that the d cision of the council was against Mr. Ma- son, he has continued to exercise the pre- rogatives of a pastor, and since Sunday last has kept the doors of the church locked, thus preventing any one from entering the building except with his consent. In consequence of this many of those who were decided by the council to be the legal ccngregation of the church have been wrought up to a high pitch of excitement, and yesterday afternoon they decided to lake measures to get possession of the property. As a result a number of them assembled at Snow Creek Church, and un- der the leadership of Deacong Wright and Waddy, and provided with the necessary tcols, they marched up Sheridan avenue and attacked the doors of the church, which they pried open. The old lock was taken off and a new one put on. They were pre- paring to celebrate their victory, when a tig crowd of Mason's friends appeared on the scene. For a time a fight seeméd im- minent, but Sergt. Anderson and Officer Al- len prevented this. A good many of Ma- scn’s friends got into the church, however, where both parties remained until a late hour last night. Finally an agreement was reached to have one representative from each side in possession, and an effort will be made to have the unpleasantness ad- justed today. The Christian Endeavor chorus of Garden Mcmorial Church, Mr. T. T. Snell, leader, will meet this evening. John A. Logan Corps, G. A. R., will hold an important meeting Monday night. — gS AUCTION SALES OF REAL ESTATE, &c. Today. C. G.
