The Anacostia citizens have been endeavoring for several years to get this company to give then better accommodation. We have had prom- ises galore, but no fulfillment. I say advisedly, we are ashamed of the road, but we feel this new departure to one-horse cars and an abbreviated step is the beginning of the end. We see signs that | encourage us to push onward. Our proper- ty interests are suffering and depreciating from the dog-in-the-manger policy of this corporation. Fifty per cent of the empty houses ts due to the want of better and more rapid transit to the city. With your help we hope to rid the city of this clog and obstruction upon her streets. RICH. B. His daugh- ter, who is troubled with a bronchial aim- culty, is ig the winter in Kettrell, which is about thirty miles below Fortress Monroe. Gov. Greenhalge has been upon the verge of nervous prosiration for nearly three Weeks, his digestion being severely impatr- ed and his nights restless. The discourag- ing feature of the case is that he shows xo signs of improvement. The Venezuelan boundary commiasion has received a letter from Sir Clement Mark- ham, president of the British Royal Geo- graphical Society, offering to furnish the American commission with all of the charts and information in its possession touching upon the location of the true boundary be- tween Venezuela and British Guiana. A reply has been made to this offer, express- ing the gratitude of the commission for the tender, and stating that it will be held under consideration, in the expectation that the case which the British government has promised to submit wil! include all of the in- formation that is in the possession of the society, and so render it unnecessary to tax it at this time by an acceptance of this effer, —_—_—__+-2+—_____ Will Filed. ‘The will of the late George B.
