The Princess Bonnie.—A magnificent new production of Willard Spencer's successful comic opera, “Princess Bonnie,” will be the attraction at the Lafayette Square Opera House next week.It will be presented with entirely new scenery, new costumes and appointments, and the entire New York cast, which includes nearly all the old favorites of the original production. The cast fs a strong one and includes Jen- nie Goldthwaite in her original role of “Kittle Clover.” The “Princess Bonnie” ts Miss Hilda Clark, a pretty, graceful young southern woman. Clara Morris.—It is nearly four years since Clara Morris was last seen in this city, and her engagement at the Grand next week will be of particular interest, as she will appear in a play that is entirely new to Washington theater goers. It is called “Raymonde,” and is a clever adap- tation of the “Monsieur Alphonse” of Dumas, and has been added to her reper- toire for the present tour. In addition to “Raymonde” she will be seen in three of her past great successes, “Camille,” “Miss Multon” and “Article 47." The sale of seats will open at the box office tomorrow morning. Lectures on Good Cooking.—Mr. Thomas J. Murrey, the proprietor of the House rest- aurant, who has a wide fame as a writer of books on gastronomy and as a practical cook, will give a series of lectures during December on the subject of good cooking at Metzerott Hall. He intends to make his lec- tures particularly Interesting and valuable to housekeepers, as well as to every one who is interested in good living without increas- ing Be market bills. The lectures will be given Tuesday and Friday afternoons at o'clock, beginning December 6. Among the subjects upon which he will speak are the chafing dish and what can be accomplished with it, marketing for the holiday season, with special reference to the Washington market, how to cook oysters, lobsters and fish in dainty style; salads, sauces, eto. They will be illustrated with practical demonstrations of cooking, and will be full of timely hints to men and women on how to serve attractive and inexpensive meals, how te market and how to carve. The chafing dish is such a fad just now that the first lecture, in which Mr. Murrey expects to show how an entire dinner can be pre- pared In this modern utensil, will probably draw a large crowd. Taylor.—‘Yankee Doodle and Dixie,” which is the title of the peculiar entertainment to be given at Metzerott Music Hall on Monday, December 2, by ex- Governor Bob. Wil- Mams-Pearman was inaugurated last night at the Church of Our Father before a distin- guished andience. An organ solo by Dr. J. W. Bischoff was the opening number, fol- lewed by Piccolomini's “Eternal Rest” by Mr. Pearman, with a violin obligato by Mr. W. Raab. Mr. Pearman sang also “By the Waters.” with a harp accompaniment by Miss Anita Cluss. Mr, J. J. Fisher, Miss Florence McNelly, Miss Elsie M. Bond, Mrs. Hattie Meads Smith, and Mrs. Morgan D. Lewis also contributed vocal numbers. Miss Anita Cluss played several harp solos, Mrs. John C. Edwards gave a piano solo, and Mr. Eugene Coffin played a famillar alr with variations on the saxaphone. Dr. J. W. Bischoff and Mrs. John C. Edwards were the accompanists. Canton Potomac’s Entertainmegt.—All preparations for the entertainment of Can- ton Potomac, No. 5, P. M., I. 0. O.
