PEARY’: Arrangements for Auxiliary 1894 Expedition. At last night’s monthly meeting of the Geographical Club, at Philadelphia, the first authorised announcement was made of the plans of the forthcoming expedition organ- ized to effect the return of Lieut. Peary and his party to the United States. ‘The expedition will return with Lieut. Peary bout September 15. Jones’ sound will be penetrated for a greater distance than has been yet attempt- ed, and if weather and the condition of the ice are propitious it is more than probable that the Bryant and her party will attempt to examine and chart the 300 miles of un- known coast line forming the northeastern shore of Jones’ sound and the western bor- der of Ellesmere Land. carne ship ie due at Boudin bay, however, 1, and nothing in the way of wide expedi tions Win be be allowed to interfere United States, spay ——_+o+—_____ Brilliant Checker Playing.
