About 7 o'clock last evening the cry of fire and the ringing of the bell caused an excited crowd to rush to the mill of the Laure! company, where Ww | it was found that fire had broken out in the waste house. Fortunately there was a| good supply of water and plenty of hose and the tire was confined to the building in which it originated, causing a loss. ot- about 31,0UU.
