Bell, the well-known photog- rapher, died Inst evening at his residence in the Hotel Windsor. ‘The illness of Mr. Bell has | been mentioned in Te Star and his numerous friends have been apprehensive of a fatal result, although strong hopes were entertained that he would recover. As has been stated, Mr. Bell contracted a severe cold while attending the naval review at Fortress Monroe. Since that time he has been sick, but during the past few days ie seemed to be ititproving. Last even- ing. however, he had a sudden relapse and died before a physician could be summoned. Mr. Bell was in the prime of life and was at the head of a large and tlour- ishing business. He was only forty-five years of age and was born in Fredericksburg, Va. When a young man he began business in this city as a photographer, and has been very sue- cessful. He made himself a master of his art and was recognized as an expert in photog- raphy. He had two large establishments, one at 463 Pennsylvania avenue and the other at 701 15th strect. He was « part- ner in the Bell Lithographic Company. Mr. Bell's relations with his employes were of such a generous character that many of them had been in his employ for a numper of years and they had come to regard bim with peculiar affection. His death, therefore, comes to them asa personal loss. Mr. Bell married Mise Col- , daughter of the proprietor of the Hotel adsor. wife and two sons, aged ten and | tive vears, survive him.
