Mr. Frank Benton of this city read a lengthy paper on “Varieties of Bees and Their Charac- teristics.” Mr. Benton is an enthusiast upon the subject of bee raising and has devoted years of study and observation to the care of bees. Mr. Ben- ton has traveled all over Europe in his studies of the habits of foreign bees and has extended his trips even into the jungles of India. In his paper today he described the habits of the different varieties of bees that he saw in his travels, He pictured at length the manner of handling the bees, their temperaments and their availability for use in this country. Upon the conclusion of Mr, Benton's paper a recess was taken forlunch. Assistant Secretary Willets of the Agricultural Department, who wak present, invited the delegates to visit that department. The cause for the divorce does not appear on the docket and under the direc- tion of the court the papers have been care- fully guarded from the public eye and it can only be surmised from the fact that Dr. Dick- son and two friends found Mrs. Dickson and young Englishman named Carter in a room the National Hotel in the early part of Oc- tober last. Mrs. Dickson made no defense and the testimony of three witnesses was taken by Examiner Smith. . a OMicers Elected. Officers of Excelsior Lodge, No. 14, K. of P., have been elected as follows: P.
