Rinaldo C. Cross, formerly the agent of the Electric Lighting Company, who left here about four months ago, was brought here yes- terday afternoon by Detective Carter from Santa Cruz, Cal. He was indicted several months ago for forging the name of H. D. company, toa number of checks, aggregating about $400. For a long time the company was money ran ont, and failing to obtain employ- ment when he fanded at Santa Cruz he sur- rendered to the authorities, etating he was will- ing to return and atone for the crime as far ns possible. The police being informed of his Whereabouts Detective Carter was sent for him, and he brought on the prisoner, who he yester- day delivered to the authorities. Stern down to the arsenal and robbed him of $8. The defendants plead not guilty and Judge Miller heard the festimony. He held them in $500 each to await the action of the grand jury.
