THE TYPOS’ FAIR. ‘The Attendance Was Large and Business Was Very Brisk. President Harrison was not at the Columbia Typographical Union fair last night, but the balance of this city’s population seemed bent on finding «foothold somewhere within the limits of the really beautiful building which No. 101 has erected for its accommodation and profit It was a thoroughly happy crowd that wandered through the rooms which are temporarily dedicated to amusement and the acquisition—by the Union—of cash, The feature of the evening—the corps of lady assistants always excepted—was the Washington Light Infantry Corps. Col. Moore brought his command out in full-dress uniform and the white coats and glitgering facings colored the sceno in a most pleasing fashion. Business was rei iy ‘Mra. Robertson himself told Deputy Hawkeburst at Fairfax Court House that he had been lynched by two men on the road between Alexandris and is pi that lynch law is now satisfied. Robertson is, however, alive and well and owaits at Fair- fax jail the course of the law. The constable’s tale is that a mob of two men assailed him and taking Robinson from him hung Robinson to a tree until he begged for mercy, and then re- stored him to the arms of the constable, who carried him to Fairfax. It wad evidently a lynching that did not lynch, LEFT FOR NORFOLE. Rathbone Division, Knights of Pythias, under command of Capt. George H. Appich gave a reception at their hospitable home on King street last night in honor of Mr. and Mrs, W. W. Mc- Caffrey. The happy couple, just returned from their wedding trip, received the con- gratulations of several hundred guests. The floral wedding bell, under which the young couple received, and the other floral adorn- ments of the handsome rooms made the scene a picture of beauty, while the dining rooms dispensed the luxuries of the seagon to a company.
