Widdicombe, manager of the Pabst Brewing Company, residing at the cor- ner of 13th and I streets, was fatally injured about 5:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Capt. Widdicombe was an excellent horseman and driver, and notwithstanding his horse—a spirited five-year-old—had run away the day | Fi before, took the animal out again yesterday. He had just left the corner of 7th and G streets and had hardly taken his seat in his buggy when the animal took fright at something and ran and, colliding with » furniture wagon, the captain was thrown out, his head striking the Tear part of a cable train, which had stopped at the corner for pasmengers to geton. With ¥o much force did the the captain strike on his head that his skull was fractured and he was otherwise seriously injured. He was picked upin an insonsible condition and covered with Miss Rachel Richards, who was on the car, was struck by the horse and badly bruised, but was able to be taken to her home, 602 6th street northwest.
