Fisuina 1x Huntixa Cneex.— There has lately been some vexation to Alexandria people in the management of Hunting Creek bridge ‘The bridge 1s pleasantly situated near tow and a portion of it is within the one-mile limit—that is, within the control of the Alex- andria police authorities, but the bridge is enurely in Mt. Vernon district of Fairfax county, and its constables also have jurisdiction atthe bridge. Informer times tie bridge was @ pleasant resort for fishing parties of ladies and children, but lately fishing on the bridge bas been forbidden and ladies treated very rudely by a constable of that dis- trict, Before the war there had been a law which forbade huntiug “on the lands or in the water courses of Fairfax, Stafford and King George counties, within tive miles of navigable tide water, without the con- sent of owners or tenants of lands. There was then no prohibition of fishing, but when the new code came to be adopted & few years ago the word “fisuing” was inserted after ing,” and in this way the new prohibition came about. The tax sale of real estate de- linquents here was fivished yesterday after- noon, the city buying in all the property ou which the taxes stll remained unpaid, GEORGETOWN, Pottce Covxt Notes.—Since the increase of the police force and additional men were given to the seventh (Georgetown) precinct the num- ber of arrests has about doubled, Most of the arrests are made on “Herring Hill” and in “Boston,” where the population is composed chiefly of colored people. Cherry alley, where the notorious Poindexter family lives, also furnishes a large number of cases, There was trouble in that alley last evening and Frances Poindexter and her busband Nelson were arrested. The charge against them was disorderly conduct, and when they appeared before Judge Miller this morning the judge said that Frances could not behave herself if she tried and fined her $5. The husband was discharged. —A young colored woman named Kato Lewis was tried for alleged disorderly conduct, Her arrest was made on complaint of a member of the Poindexter family and for that reason the charge was dismissed ——Kose Ford, a colored female who tried to sell her husband's razor yesterday, was charged with eurrying concealed weapons and disorderly conduct, She attempted to dispose of the razor asa matter of business.
