If a person has an obstinate cough, which com- mencod without any obvious cause, a cough which is at first dry end hacking, aud subsequently attended fora time with frothy or mucilaginous-looking expec- toration, recompauied by wandering pxins about the i slight extent, he ts in muptive. If, besides, there be blood, even to the amount breathing becomes harsh, hurried and deep inspira- tions evoke a few clicks of a dry and crecking sound, of if the voice becomes permanently weuk and hoarse, there can be little doubt that the person is suffering fromm consumpticn.
