The real estate brokers are largely interested in the managemeut of the office of recorder of deeds. In talking with a number of brokers this moruing a Star reporter foynd that they had all read in Tue Stan the provisions of Mr. Dawes’ bill. All who were seen expressed — as being heartily in favor of the ill, Mr. M. M. Parker said that the proposed salary of $3,000 a year to be paid the recorder was ample compensation for performing the duties of that position. which was largely a sinecure, He farther thought that it would have the effect of taking the office out of poli- tics, He said that the place ought to be filled by a District man and this ——— = the bill especially met with his hearty ap; .
