2 Preparations in Official Circles for the Season—Personal Mention. The President and Mrs. Harrison spent the past week quietly at the White House. The President drives out in his buggy every after- noon after 4o’clock and yesterday Mrs, Marri- son accompanied him. Mrs. Harrison bas in- augurated preparations for the winter's com- fort, The front chamber that was Mr, Cieveland’s sleeping = apartment and that Secretary Halford occupied g his illness lately is being freshly paj the use of Mrs. § d for eKee and the children when they come on in December.
