MARCHING IN SWALLOW-TAIIB. The Unique Procession of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. CTIVE prepara- tions were in prog- ress this afternoon for the “Grand Shrine Caravan” of the Ancient Arabic have kept open house at their headquarters at Grand Army hall for all visiting shriners, They bad the preparations for the grand parade in hand, and the vicinity of Grand Army hall to- day was the point about which all the red fezzes im the city naturally revolved. The red fez is one of the picturesque features of the striking costumes worn by the shriners. The parade will be formed about 4 o'clock under the direction of Andrew W. Kel- ley, chief marshal, and L. 0. Wood, chief of staff. The aids of the chief marshal are: Jesse M. Grant, adjutant first division; Major W. Bayliss, C. W. Leanarda, W. F. Geyer, C. H. Fowler. J. H. Olcott, A. B. Coolidge, H. F. Breuninger. Harry Standiford, Herndon Mor- ell, and Frank Schwartz. SOW THE LINE WILL BE FORMED. The Marine band will head the line. The first division will consist of the members of Almas temple. Second division—Mecca temple, New York; Pyramid temple, Bridgeport. Conn, Third division— Lulu temple, Philadelphia. Fourth division—Boumi temple, Baltimore; Saladin temple, Grand Rapids, Mich. Fifth division—Acca somple, Richmond, Va. ; Osiris temple. Wheeling, W Va. Sixth division—Isis temple, Selina, Kan.; Tangier temple, Omaha, Neb.; Alcoran temple, Cleveland. The line of march will be from Mystic Shrine headquarters to 15th street, to K, to 14th, to F, to 9th, to Pennsylvania avenue, to Peace mon- ument at the Capitol and countermarch back to the point of starting. SCENES ON TEE STREETS LAST NIGHT—MUSIC, REVELRY AND IMPROMPTU PARADES—RECEP- ‘TIONS HELD AT MANY HEADQUARTERS—LADIES ACCOMPANY THE KNIGHTS. The Templars were in full possession of the city last evening. The streets resounded with music and innocent revelry. Scores of im- promptu parades were organized. Pennsyl- yania avenue, which was at many points brightly illuminated, was thronged with peo- ple, who filled the sidewalks and spread out over the asphalt. The scene was an unusu- ally pretty one. Every little while the crowd would part to let some marching body pass. The visitors seemed to love to walk on the asphalt. In these night parades the Templars were joined by their Indies, who fell in with the sir knights bebind the bands and went off with them in quest of pleasure. Around the notels and at Pema merger where state headquarters aro located the night scenes were especially bright and animated. A CALIFORNIAN RECEPTION. The Californians held high carnival at the Normandie and the hotel was crowded to its extreme limits. Golden Gate commandery from San Francisco were the ‘ial heroes by reason of their reception to Mrs. John A. Logan, which took place about 7 o’clock in the afternoon. The reception was by invitation. Sond, 7 Were received by Eminent Commander th and the officers of the commandery, assisted by the following ladies: Mrs. Frank J. French, Mra. C. G. Young. Mra. Col. Wm. Edwards, Mrs. J. M. Firth. Mrs. W. G. Stafford. Mrs. Logan was accompanied by her son, John A. Logan, jr. The ladies were attired in reception costumes and the decorations were exceedingly elegant. POTOMAC COMMANDERY'S HOSPITALITY. Good fellowship existed last night at Masonic hall, Georgetown, the headquarters of Potomac commandery, No. 3, K. T., the occasion being a reception tendered the visiting members of Allegheny commandery of Allegheny, Pa., and the ladies accompanying them. During the evening a handsome gold-headed cane was presented to Sir Knight Wm. A. Short of Po- tomac commandery by members of the Alle- heny commandery. Eminent Commander Rezin W. Darby was presented with a framed certificate of honorary membership of Alle- gheny commandery. After being served with refreshments the uests were escorted to the Hamilton house by —- commandery and the commandery a AT INDIANA HEADQUARTERS. At the National Rifles’ armory, where the In- dianians have their headquarters, a continuous reception was held last evening. During the evening the drill corps of boys from the Ken- tacky Masonic home paid a visit to the armory and were enthusiastically received. ‘The ladies accompanying the Indiana commanderies will be received by Mrs Harrison tomorrow after- noon at 3 o'clock. NOTES OF THE NIGHT. The ladies of Damascus commandery of St. Paul were serenaded last night at their head- quarters on 13th street between E and F by uineteen different commanderies, Many of the commanderies and the Indies accompanying started out on independent parades last night. They took their bands and visited the different headquarters, stopping at each long enough to exchange fraternal greetings.
