Officer Kurstner, one of the recently ap- pointed policeman, was patroling his beat in the nerthwest section of the city last night when he heard loud noises in a church which attracted his attention and he kept close to the building. In a short time he heard piercing screams, and thinking it was about time to interfere he entered the church, and, with baton drawn to show his authority, advanced up the crowded aisles to the vicinity of the altar. Here he found a Portly sister on the floor excitedly screaming, Sad supposing her to be in a fit was about to remove her.
