As published in yesterday's Stan, the coroner's Jury in the case of Grace Smallwood, accused of the murder of her child, held her responsible for Killing the child, and she will be committed to jail 4s soon as she is well enough to leave the hospital. ‘The principal testimony against her was given by Sergeant Burgess and Oflicer Stewart. The officer Was first lacormed of the finding of the dead body in the ailey, and ke discovered the shoestring ted tightly around its neck. When arrested she told tne officer and Sergeant Burgess that the child Was her's; that it was born between 5 and 6 o'clock Sunday evening; that she supposed it was dead and she put It id a bucket of water.
