PROP. BAIRD IN SCIENCE. Brof. W. H. Dall, president of the Biological Society, spoke of “Prot. Baird in science.” He ranked him highest among all the students of the mysteries of science. He had done directly, he Said, more than any other man to world with the birds and the mamals of America, What he had done indirectly was incalculable. Other scientists had been Inspired to work by bis publications, and had been assisted by his personal advice and instruction.
