On December 234 last Alice F. Herndon, the wife of J.C. Herndon, a carpenter, left her home at 802 6th street northwest, and, her husband says, has not been heard from since. The matter has been kept from publicity by Mr. Hern- don until this date, as, he says, he hoped his wife would return, but he has now given up all hope. Mr. Herndon told to a Stan reporter to-day the story of his troubles for about a year before the ‘Ume of her departure.
