The story, as published, states that after the Yantic had completed the duty for which ‘she was sent to Aspinwall she was. compelled to 1emain there unnecessarily, although the un- healthy season was imminent. Sickness broke out among both officers and men, but the repeated telegraphic requests for orders to sail were not answered by the Navy Department. ‘The condi- tion of affairs was inexplicable to the Yantic peo- Ple until the arrival of a bridal couple at Aspin- Wall from the North solved tne problem.
