It has béen ‘a bad season for warm goods of every description, and wost merchants seem to be entirely absorbed in Gisponal and somewhat regardless of the fact that season is here for balls, parties and receptions. You may get everything you want at the Palais Royal, and if it is warm goods, such as cloaks or underwear, you will find the prices reduced regardless of what they cont. A word should be said in favor of the glove atid fan departments. Strangers to Washington are always astounded that city of 200,000 inhabitants could support astore whose glove department requités fifteen, ansintants, and where fans may be found not by tens or hundreds, but by the thousand, and at priced as low as 25e. and up to $100. ‘That such existe in is illustrated at the Palais Royal. ‘The store is ac- knowledged to make the finest display in the country.
