After a long description of Sir Charles Dilke, and an allusion to the Crawford divorce case, the writer in the Figaro reported a conversation he had had with sir Charles, and ‘this terminated as follows: ‘I know that ina few months the great Dilke- Crawford case will be reopened. That case, the most scandalous of the century in Englana, 13soon ‘Yo enter on its third phase. A certain number of Sir Charles Dilke’s friends have, of their own Initiative, and without being in any way requested By him todo so, undertaken a most sertous inquiry, Which will shortly result in revelations that will be received by the pubiie with the greatest sur- rise. I believe that I can affirm that Sir Charles nke's Trends statesmen, barristers docto even ministers, and men belonging to all classes ol soctety—are on the track of a conspiracy which Will resound through the press of the whoie world. ‘The majority of Sir Charles Dilke’s friends have always believed in his innocence, and have from the ‘very first considered him the victim of Odious machinations. ‘The time 4s approac when they Will, perhaps, be able to justify that ‘opinion by proofs. The third Dilke-Crawtord trial Will doubtless abound in revolting details, as the two others have done, but, on the other had, tt is Permissible to hope that 1¢ will furnish one of the host gifted and accomplished men of hyp day the opportunity of extricating himself trom the corner Infamy into which he has Deen driven by accu- Sations which tll now he has not been able to sue- ced in refuting.” In reply to the Standard's Cor. respondent's questions Sir Charles Dilke said that he did not give the above information to the writer On the Figaro. That gentieman had come to speak fo him with regard to the information which he had obtained from other sources. It was quite ‘rue that a committee of his friends had Prosecuting a searching inquiry into the matter, ‘and had obtained a mass of evidence. It could not De sald that the case would for certain be reopened in a few months, or indeed at all, a8 nothing as yet has been decided as to what will be done, “A vast amount of evidence had certainly been collected by his rriends, and {t would be submitted to his legal advisors for their opinion. ‘Tin-Tun-Ling’s Career in Paris, ‘From the Chicago Tribune. “Paris has lost a famous adventurer.
