The building known as the Lincoln hall building, at the corner of 9th and D streets, was destroyed by fire at an early hour yesterday morning. The conflagration was one of the most destructive that has occurred in the city for many months. The ‘spectacle was a grand one, and was witnessed by ‘great throng of people, who congregated in the streets despite the snow and chilling wind. ‘The Are burned until there was nothing lett of the large structure but a heap of smoking ruins, enclosed by broken and blackened walls.
