A considerable increase over the current appro- priations is asked. The total amount estimated is $4,365,495.66, against $3,703,373.99. Th principal items of increase are an additional $96,125 for schools, $72,500 for the police, $206,000 more for street improvements, $22,000 more for sweeping streets, and $111,418.67 more for new water maine, and $80,000 more for opening suburban streets.
