The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Bancroft, the wife of George Bancroft, the historian, took place this morning from her late residence,1623 Hi street. The large parlors were filled with the intimate friends of the family, and at 11 o'clock Rev. Dr. Leonard read the burial ser- vice. With this short and simple ceremonial the funeral exercises were concluded, and the ie tace of frends, after taking a last look upon the dead, withdrew.
