A LIVELY FIGHT AT LEADVILLE, WHICH CAME NEAR ENDING IN A RIOT. DENVER, Col., March 15.—A special to the News from Leadville says: A prize fight, lasting one hour, was fought yesterday atternoon in Carbonate hall, between Jack Cunningham, of Silverton, and Bryan Campbell, of Leadville, both hard hitters. They used ‘soft. buckskin loves, with the fingers cut off at the second font. "Fifty-three rounds were fought, during which the men succeeded in knocking each other down several times, but they were always up when time wascalied. In next to the last round Campbell knocked down one of Cun- ningham’s seconds, A free fight then com menced, but was stopped by a dozen policemen, ‘who jumped into the ring with drawn revolvers. Order was soon restored. The referee then ordered the men to the scratch. Cunningham responded, but his antagonist was completely exhausted. The battle was therefore given to the Silverton slugger. ———— Burned for the Seventh Time.
