Ata meeting of the Bar association yesterday afternoon the report of the special committee appointed to consider the Senate bill in rela- tion to the jurisdiction ot magistrates and the Police Court was considered. This report far vored the retention of the Police Court, with a requirement that all trials in the Police Court should be by a jury. After some discussion the report was laid on the table. Subsequently another committee, composed of Messrs. Dean, Abert, Elliot, Tobriner and Davis, was ap- pointed to further consider the bill, and also another bill, proposing to enlarge the jurisdic~ tion of justices of the peace.
