Organizing for Resistance. ‘THE RETAIL LIQUOR DEALERS TAKING STEPS TO PROTECT THEIR INTERESTS. A meeting of the retail liquor dealers was held last evenfhg at Mr. P. Wynne’s, corner of Sth and K streets—Mr. T. Sullivan presiding and Mr.P. Wynne secretary. The latter re- ported that the committee to wait on the Com- missioners had called on Commissioner Webb, presented their grievances and complaints against the police, and he had in them that he would communicate with them in writ- Ing. It was reported that about 100 signatures had been obtained to the petition. ‘The committee on constitution reported a declaration or preamble to the instrument, which was adopted. It affirins “that where one retail Liquor dealer is injured in the adminis- tration of law all are concerned,” and the pur- pose of the association is ‘to substitute persist- ‘ent organized protection for occasional individ- ual resistance where the interests of its mem- hers are involved.
